In 2023, we have reviewed our structure to make it more supportive for our team of voluntary and emerging talents. From 2023, we are creating a clearer structure for the collective to work together, including the board of directors\caretakers (who owns and runs this artist-run-initiative everyday), an intern team (who assists the board and learn at the same time), and an advisory board (who supports the board with their experience, network and knowledge). There is also a mailing list for a pool of skill-based community volunteers that you can join anytime here for infrequent engagement.

All the roles are voluntary at Tributary Projects at the moment. Tributary Projects would have not been able to sustain with the generosity of labour from the community of members and artists involved. We have a five-year goal to set up part-time paid staff roles that will be termed\rotative to help us sustain while maintaining a collective culture.

We intend to follow the guidance of NAVA Code of Practice for ARIs: https://code.visualarts.net.au/artist-run-initiatives/artist-run-initiatives/summary-of-good-practice-recommendations, and we welcome our voluntary members to help us keep up with the good practice.

JANHAVI SALVI

Secretary

Janhavi Salvi (b. 1998) is an Indian Artist working within the Visual and Media Arts, based in Canberra, Australia. Janhavi loves accomplishing this by crafting experiences that change the status of the viewer from being the classic mute spectator to participants. She aims to bring about communication between the viewer and the work – to make them co-authors of the work – she happily welcomes even the most basic response of emotion, even that of a chuckle. Her practice is driven by the aim to make pieces of work that move away from the ‘please do not touch’ conditioning to a more liberal form of engagement that encourages touching and tampering with the work.
