FAKE RAGE STOCK-EXCHANGE CAKE / GALLERY TWO
David Greenhalgh

NARRATOR: Well, look at how far we’ve come: the era of progress and enlightenment has produced a world of disinformation and an unstable climate. Bracing ourselves for this cataclysmic future, art now offers the only way out. It does so by following the rules of alchemy (a practice that was once thought to be lost), where shit is turned into gold.
FAKE RAGE STOCK-EXCHANGE CAKE is a music video, diagram, protest sign, spreadsheet, sex shop. By inviting viewers to sit and ponder the irrationality of our existence, it is hoped that everyone will become good friends afterwards. This exhibition by David Greenhalgh is an accumulation of small decisions, a collection of memories and a manifestation of feelings. All this is wrapped up in a gentle pessimism: empty your bank account and let hedonism be your guide.
