‘A Porn into a Queen’ is an exhibition of religious, psycho- sexual spiritual drawings. 

Exploring self-referential desires,fantasies and inner turmoil the artist portrays ones struggle to attain a religious and spiritual awakening in an attempt to transcend to the illusionary nirvana of the better self, or ‘Queen’.

Encapsulating the contradictory nature of desire and the battle to understand oneself outside of animal instinct, Hal’s drawings take an unapologetic look within, exploring perceptions of identity. Influenced by a chaotic combination of religious symbolism, as well as social media, pornography, online sex and dating app’s, the artist maps intersecting and conflicting identities relating to sexuality and gender. Seeking to make tangible what eludes the artist grasp, ‘A Porn into a Queen’ documents a personal journey of transformation.
